Since 2011, Skyrim HD is providing HD textures for 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim', ranging from 1K Resolution in Lite Version up to some 8K textures in the Full Version. What I recommend is that you install the lite version, as the texture resolutions on that are half of the highest res textures but still look better than the vanilla textures. Depending on your GPU, you may or may not even notice that. Now, any time you increase the strain on the GPU you have, it will affect the game's performance. While there's a number of texture mods, the 2K Textures mod is the best, as it offers the highest resolution textures for a good portion of the game (higher than the OFFICIAL high res texture pack), comes in a lite version, is constantly being updated, and allows you to choose what parts of the game to increase textures on.Īs far I know, it works with the latest patch.
